Web3 is everywhere nowadays and Indian VCs, startups are extremely bullish on it. Every developer, either web2 dev or beginner nowadays wants to be a part of it but only some of them get the chance. Before deep-diving into web3.0, we have to understand what is web2.0 and web1.0 ! So, What is web1.0? When the internet came into existence for the first time, it was only a read-only version of the internet like a huge Wikipedia, where we only take the information and leave. But, as soon we begin to explore more in the world of the web, we started to have access to a read and write web. In web2.0, we can easily talk with individuals who are far away from us and the communication barrier became too thin. Basically, we updated the web from static to dynamic websites 😂. Everything went online and people started to interact and develop things over the internet. Every big tech company like Amazon, Facebook, Google came into existence in that period. Right now, we are in the phase of web2.0 only. So, what's wrong with web2.0? Everything we can imagine is some sort of data. Big tech giants use our data so that they can give us a better experience. But, the problem arises when the data is misused. The Big tech companies hold a major power over us by having our data. They started to trade our data for ads which directly means NO PRIVACY at all. It also means the advertisements on some of the platforms are for the targeted audiences and we can say this as a controlled internet. So, What is Web3.0, and why it's different? In web3.0, you can READ, WRITE AND OWN WEB. The technology behind web3.0 is Blockchain. Blockchain is decentralized meaning no central authority and it's distributed ledger system. The beauty of blockchain is that it is more secure, private, and distributed. The features like private and secured network, no usernames and passwords, more access and no monopoly, peer-to-peer, no servers to worry about, more transparency make it more believable that it can change our lives.
